The velvet has a lovely soft nap that makes it feel far nicer than a typical paper gift bag. I used it to wrap a small present and the red looked properly festive under the tree.

The red velvet feels genuinely soft, not that cheap crushed-velvet stuff, and it held up fine when I stuffed it with tissue and a small gift. Only thing is it's a bit smaller than I pictured, so keep that in mind if you're packing something bulky.
